Technology is not really the challenge ...
Today I had the session with the director of my daughter's school and we did talk about several topics like the digital school conference in Berlin, the proposal of the German Minister of education to make schools ready for the digital age and how the digital transformation situation is in our city. As I have seen in a lot of other areas already, the pure availability and capability of technology is not an issue or constraint. It is always time, money and resources.
The city leadership is controlling the budget and the resources. The departments responsible for Schools and City IT are independent and conflicting interests cannot be solved easily. Currently the plans and required projects around any kind of digital transformation (schools are only one of several areas) are not in balance with the available number of IT resources and the budget reserved --> "You only get, what you pay for - and everybody gets exactly the IT department he/she deserves" my tough learning out of 18 years in IT leadership.
In the end we agreed that I will be participating in their next meeting to work out a digital media usage concept, as volunteer from the parents side. Will be a good opportunity to look closer into running a SWOT analysis as starting initiative and to think about the possibility of crowd funding and crowd sourcing, to overcome the existing budget and resource constraints. More to come.
😉 Finally the result of my investigation of the job portal, where the company and the candidate are identified and matched against each other, based on the company culture. After your initial registration you have to answer several questions related to different topics like e.g culture, values, leadership style, growth strategy, etc. The results will be used for your company matching profile and you will get the name of the Top 25 companies with the best fit for you. From the list of companies using this solution already for their recruiting process, you can select a name and generate a PDF file with your detailed matching profile. You can add this document to the application package, if you like.
In summary I like the idea very much and think this is an interesting way to come to a good match with a potential new company. Have a look at https://www.companymatch.me and find out on your own.
