Stand out by being authentic and different ...
Looks like a really successful week this week. Just finished one phone interview and have scheduled another two for next week. All interesting positions in great companies.
For the interview today I was expecting the HR contact, but the hiring manager was on the phone directly. He liked my CV and wanted to chat. Position should be filled by February. Will be interesting to see, how this proceeds. I think the first interview was open and helpful to clarify expectations.
One of the interviews for next week was organized by a new job portal platform (https://4scotty.com/en?setLanguage=true) that I tried out after the HR fair in autumn last year. I did create a profile and did not hear anything back for several month. Early this week the first information about an interesting position, I did apply and the 1st phone interview is next Tuesday 🙂. You just need to wait for the right opportunity.
The World Economic Forum 2017 is on this week (17-20 January 2017 in Davos, Switzerland), offering a lot of interesting material (https://www.weforum.org/events/world-economic-forum-annual-meeting-2017). Have a look at the reports and white papers for example https://www.weforum.org/whitepapers
And finally with respect to recruiting trends and taking new approaches:
- Have a look at "4 Interview Questions to See the Truth in Every Candidate" from Brendan Reid (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/4-interview-questions-see-truth-every-candidate-brendan-reid?trk=hp-feed-article-title-like). Great approach and Brendan is offering other interesting posts as well.
