Some funny and other stories Part II

I still owe you the outcome of my Agility Scales application http://agilityscales.com/jobs/ from 16-Feb-17. As I only offered 10 hours per week in my application process, I was not selected for the first group of new team members. For the 1st shot Jurgen was interested in 30 hours per week availability and Web- and App-developer skills. We will stay in touch for future selection rounds 🙂.

Coming back to "funny" stories. 1st the answer from a headhunter to my request for a short status update after 97 days into the application process. 2nd the statement after 64 days of a company, after several reminders to get any kind of information besides the initial receipt:

  • We would like to inform you today that the further expiry due to client-side deadlines will still take some time. We will inform you as soon as possible about how to proceed. Until then, please be patient. I immediately asked the headhunter to take me off the list of applicants and delete my data in their client database. No further comments ...

  • After a thorough examination of the number of applications received, we are unfortunately obliged to inform you that you have not entered the shortlist for the vacancy. The selection among so many applicants is not easy for us, often it is only nuances which are decisive. We would like to thank you for your trust and wish you all the best for your future career!

There seems to be a wide range of fair treatment interpretation and possible answer emails. Liz Ryan is doing a great summary describing the dilema in this article https://www.forbes.com/sites/lizryan/2017/03/01/the-real-reason-employers-treat-job-seekers-like-dirt/#466b36892d8d

"Run away and find another employer who understands that only humans and their mighty brains and hearts have ever powered any great adventure." Liz Ryan is CEO/founder of Human Workplace

Finally some good news: I will be starting an education as Digital Transformation Consultant on 13-Mar-17, sponsored by the government labor office. Will be a good opportunity for networking and to get some great insights and more expertise in one of the key areas of concern in most of the companies for the next 3 - 5 years --> Digital Transformation.

The education will cover topics like:

  • Digital Strategy
  • Communication, Conversation and Negotiation management
  • Conflict and Change management
  • Leadership
  • Systemic and Business Coaching
  • Mediation and Consulting
  • Business Development
  • Project management
  • Moderation and Presentation
  • Self-management, Quality and Profession
  • A final certification with a Written exam and an Oral colloquium

Looking forward to it.
