What are the right questions to ask in a job interview?

According to Juergen Hesse (https://www.hesseschrader.com/, sorry only in German) one of the leading career and recruiting coaches in Germany, every job interview basically burns down to answering three simple questions:

  1. Why do you want this job (your motivation)?
  2. Why should I hire you (your value add)?
  3. Who are you (your personality)?

The way your interviewer will ask these three questions might be different, BUT you should be very clear about your answer upfront. This will reduce your stress level and you can be much more relaxed.

Besides the Albert Einstein quote my favorite statement is:

"Competencies, behaviors and skills are important attributes to consider for hiring purposes for any job. However, they’re useless without context. The solution is simple: Define how these traits are actually used on the job."
