My week fifty two summary ...
A great week just finished and I am still impressed by the endless number of reactions, either as comment or Guestbook entry, for the 1st birthday celebration of my BLOG on 04-Jul-17. I assume not everybody is reading all BLOG posts, so I can make the same joke twice 😀 😉.
Besides my one day trip to Berlin for the ConCarExpo 2017 I did apply for one new position and got rejected three times for older applications. I did take another three older applications off my list, as the reaction time of three weeks was passed, and for one other position I was added to the candidate pool for future options. Not as bad as a direct rejection, but in most cases you never hear back from the headhunter or job agency, if you not proactively remind them of your existance. But enough complaints, maybe I will get the opportunity to make it better sooner than later.
For the coming Monday I have a F2F meeting with the headhunter company that is looking for my support as self-employed headhunter. Could be a great opportunity in a new environment for me, and the chance to make a lot of stuff differently in the recruiting process, based on my learning from the last month. On Tuesday I am talking to a headhunter company that is planning to staff a very senior IT management position. Only very little information has been shared so far, so I am looking forward to more details and if I could be a good fit for them?
Some of you possibly remember the story of my email application to the position that was requesting a paper based process? I got confirmation for a 1st F2F job interview for early August 2017 by mail this week. As the position should be filled by February 2018, there is still some time left to make the right selection.
On Thursday next week I will be participating in an afternoon event covering the Digitalization status of the economy in my local area. A good opportunity to learn something about local companies and key contact people, a networking opportunity. Friday 14-Jul-17 is the last day in school and then the kids are at home for six weeks summer holiday. We have no holidays planned yet, as my current focus is on finding a new job opportunity and I need the government labor office approval, before I can take one of two weeks off. We will plan something short-term, what could be a lot of fun as well.
I wish you all a motivating and satisfying week, may all your challenges find a solution.
