From percentage to mindset ...
Sometimes the preparation phase for a post is really funny and can go in a lot of different directions. Today it started off with a short Youtube video about "Success is an iceberg" - roughly 10% of an iceberg are above, 90% are below the water - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWCg-QmSE7A for example. There is another one at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY65XhDvYRM related to the same topic.
When I selected percentage as a theme for today I have seen a picture about the 2% mindset or Fixed versus Growth mindset or how to leave your comfort zone (this is the reference to the selected picture for today 😉) in another article. A really nice picture of it is here http://www.sonhset.com/making-a-difference/the-2-mindset 👍.
Digging deeper into the mindset topic I coincidentally found a really interesting webpage from James Anderson in Australia, an "Expert in Growth Mindset, Learning Agility, Habits of Mind & Acquisition of Excellence", see http://www.jamesanderson.com.au/. There are definitely many others, but he is offering a lot of free stuff and a really nice Infographic about the Mindset Continuum --> worth checking: http://mindfulbydesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mindset_continuum.pdf All based on the work of Dr. Carol Dweck (https://www.mindsetworks.com/science/).
If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning. That way, their children don’t have to be slaves of praise. They will have a lifelong way to build and repair their own confidence. Carol S. Dweck, (born October 17, 1946) is the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor of Psychology, http://www.azquotes.com/author/19498-Carol_S_Dweck
