My week one (A1) highlights ...
As announced last week - "Well one week left to think about the nomenclature of the weeks for the next year. We have 26 letters, what is good for half of the year. So I will use A1, B1, C1, ..., Z1 for the 1st 26 weeks and surprise, surprise A2, B2, C2, ..., Z2 for the 2nd half. If you have any better idea, just let me know until next week Sunday" - the new nomenclature for the coming weeks will be A1, B1, etc.
My candidate and the future employer did come to a final agreement after some Q&A. The contract will be send out for signature tomorrow, if everything goes according to plan. So looking good, but celebration will be happening after signature only 🙂. I have seen too much already, so I do not want to become cocky.
Besides that going more digital and agile at work, learning new stuff every day. You are never to old to learn a new topic, you just should be open for new influences and opportunities. And coming from the outside, you still have a different perspective than the people working in the team for years already. Making use of this is one of the values you can bring to the table - just do it. For me personally, I can also make use of my Coaching, Mentoring and Mediation skills, on an as needed basis.
One of my colleagues from my former Automotive time did contact me Friday and asked, if I could be his reference during an application process for a new position. Always very much appreciated, when people come back to you for this kind of support, and it is a great satisfaction to see people grow over time.
Next week we are looking forward to hot summer temperatures again, so keep cool and enjoy the weather, if you can 😉:

Empathy is about standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place. Daniel H. Pink, https://www.danpink.com/
