We call it: Hardship against Misery ...

The headline is in one short sentence the summary of the Super Bowl 53 from last night. Both teams did beat a lot of the negative records in NFL history --> 3 : 3 was the result after 3 quarters. It was definitely not a boring game and the German NFL player Bjoern Werner, http://www.nfl.com/player/bjoernwerner/2540141/profile was deeply impressed by the game of the defense teams on both sides, he was part of the reporter team in German TV. The offense and both quarterbacks were a different story 🤒.
Jared Goff (LA Rams) had not only a "bad hair" day, he had a bad everything day during the Super Bowl. Nothing worked out yesterday and all his great plays during the whole season were gone. He is very young and it was his 1st Super Bowl, but the performance was unacceptable. You win as a team and you lose as a team, and the head coach and all other coaches are a major part of it as well. --> Get up, wipe your mouth, carry on - try again next season.
Tom Brady (New England Patriots) is now the six times winner together with his coach. He is like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz - There's No Place Like Home - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ6VT7ciR1o. The NFL final for him is always like coming home - he feels relaxed, he has been there, he has seen it, he is not surprised by anything. Even on a really bad day, like yesterday, he is still able to win and lead his team together with the coaches. And after losing the 2018 final - he did get up, he did wipe his mouth and he did carry on - with the age of 40, just to keep in mind 😉.
Tom is a great example and role model for the "Best Ager" discussion in the workplace and how to solve the "War for talent". He is not the fastest anymore and possibly not the most fancy player, but he can rely on his team like e.g. Edelman and Gronkowski and personal experience and expertise. The right pieces in the right place holding/working together, build the full puzzle in the end. A great picture that employees and employer should remember and think about on a regular basis. And this is more a long-term plan and nothing you can reach over night!!
