Being different can be tough ...
Today I did wear my orange hoody in the office, as I did agree with a colleague to get some color into the casual Friday (see picture in my 07-Feb-19 post). Perfect fit on a really grey day, preparing for a sunny and spring temperature weekend. "Why didn't you tell us to wear sunglasses" was a comment that I heard several times, as the orange is really bright . I had a lot of fun, a nice starting point for a conversation and did some good marketing as well.
Well being different can sometimes be tough, but also a lot of fun . Jack Ma made a full theory out of it, see "Don't hire the most qualified, hire the craziest." https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/dont-hire-most-qualified-craziest-r%C3%A9mon-van-riemsdijk/
Let's take me a Mechanical Engineer as example, in-between Software Engineers and IT specialists. I am pretty lazy and try to reuse existing solutions ("steal with pride") or just do minor adjustments for the new use case, to keep the overall effort low --> Keep it simple stupid - KISS and Doing the right things right. To get the honor for my own new development is not a key driver for me in most of the cases . For my BLOG it was different!!
In reality this could mean you are sitting in a meeting for example and ask an obvious question or make a straight forward comment (in both cases from my personal point of view) and nearly nobody understands, what you are talking about. This can be tough ...
Some funny stuff to support the CRAZY focus :
Enjoy your weekend ...
