A successful night out ...
Yesterday from 06.00 PM until 12.00 AM we celebrated the 1st VDI Nacht der Technik Rhein-Wupper after 15 month preparation time. To be honest, we had to postpone the initial date from Oct-18 to Apr-19, but anyway the waiting time was finally over. I was part of the great Service team at the Probierwerk in Opladen https://probierwerk.com/events/nacht-der-technik/, where the opening ceremony happened.
The Probierwerk, a co-working space, startup company hub, event location and open workshop for young and old, was opened yesterday afternoon as well and the Minister of Trade and Commerce of Northrine Westfalia was giving the opening speech. A good opportunity for us to kick off the night at the same location with the Minister at hand .
The two highlights the Probierwerk added to the very interesting and varied program of the technology night was a guided tour around the location and a 3D printing workshop, to create your own shopping cart token. Special thanks to Thomas who was leading all 3D workshops during the night, with very short breaks and an unbelievable level of motivation and energy .
We had around ~110 visitors (30 in the workshop) during the whole night, a very successful location with very positive feedback from all participants and visitors. Only one lady was not so happy as she has taken the wrong assumption from the name Probierwerk - Try factory - because she could not try different dishes and meals. Luckily she could get some small leftover pieces from the buffet for the opening ceremony with the Minister .
In summary: A great service team on-site, a great location with highly motivated people to show their new workplace and last but not least visitors, who had shown a lot of interest, motivation, flexibility and support for this 1st time Technology Night event in their region. But the next technology night is already round the corner, on Friday 28-Jun-19 in Cologne https://www.nacht-der-technik.de/, only two month to go .
I will share more details about yesterday, when the impressions and reports are coming online.
