The child that lives within you ...
I got a really positive feeback lately that I am still coming across as youthful for my real age 🙃. With grey hair it was not really related to my outside look, but more to the inside mindset and approach towards people. I am feeling and see myself much younger than 57, but maybe 57 is the new 37 - 47? The average pensioner is nowadays also much more active and appears younger than 20 years ago.
When I look into the mirror my Inner Child is giving me a wave, what is great. And very helpful when you still have younger kids or to be well prepared for the up to 5 generations in the workplace that you could be facing as baby boomer now. Be open for new stuff, other influences and ideas. Be open for any change and make it happen, when you see a benefit for yourself. Especially when it helps you to stay in contact with younger generations 👍.
“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.” ― Socrates, https://www.biography.com/scholar/socrates, this statement is 2,450+ years old and and there are similar ones that are even 4,000 years old. So the opinion about children is not changing over time, something to rely on 😋.
So take advantage of this contrast with your Inner Child and use it to further grow as person. Your surroundings will thank you.
The real you is still a little child who never grew up. Sometimes that little child comes out when you are having fun or playing, when you feel happy, when you are painting, or writing poetry, or playing the piano, or expressing yourself in some way. These are the happiest moments of your life - when the real you comes out, when you don't care about the past and you don't worry about the future. You are childlike. -- Miguel Angel Ruiz, https://www.miguelruiz.com/don-miguel-ruiz
