An interesting week is gone and an even more interesting one is coming up. The new organization is supposed to be starting on 01-Sep-20, the first day I will meet my new supervisor.

A lot of people did ask me, if I would have a problem to start in a new environment changing from the IT to the Finance department? I do not see an issue as I am a very self-organized guy working independently under self-control. Somewhat exaggerated one could say, we just meet for goal setting, mid- and end-year review meetings and some status updates in between. I can easily adapt to any supervisor, it is more difficult for the supervisors to get along with me 😉, sometimes. Being open, honest and authentic can be surprising from time to time ...

Yesterday we did meet a friend, who did change from a large enterprise company to a mid-size family owned business. He did tell about a lot of interesting changes that he realized in the last 4 month. Similar stories that I hear from another friend who is working as a freelancer for a family owned business in the bio-technology industry. In order to keep the company internals and details protected, I did search for two articles that pretty well cover the pros and cons of family owned businesses. Some are really well known and exceedingly successful. Decide for yourself ...

Besides the Fairphone presentation this week there was another one from Elon Musk's Neuralinkhttps://www.neuralink.com/

"I could have been born into any family. I was fortunate that I was born to an artist as extraordinary as Picasso, and Picasso turned out to be the family business." -- Claude Picasso, French - Photographer Born: May 15, 1947,    https://gagosian.com/quarterly/2019/01/22/conversation-claude-picasso-john-richardson/
