An interesting week is gone and an even more interesting one is coming up. The new organization is supposed to be starting on 01-Sep-20, the first day I will meet my new supervisor.
A lot of people did ask me, if I would have a problem to start in a new environment changing from the IT to the Finance department? I do not see an issue as I am a very self-organized guy working independently under self-control. Somewhat exaggerated one could say, we just meet for goal setting, mid- and end-year review meetings and some status updates in between. I can easily adapt to any supervisor, it is more difficult for the supervisors to get along with me 😉, sometimes. Being open, honest and authentic can be surprising from time to time ...
Yesterday we did meet a friend, who did change from a large enterprise company to a mid-size family owned business. He did tell about a lot of interesting changes that he realized in the last 4 month. Similar stories that I hear from another friend who is working as a freelancer for a family owned business in the bio-technology industry. In order to keep the company internals and details protected, I did search for two articles that pretty well cover the pros and cons of family owned businesses.
